Katherine, how wise your post is. And coming from a professional clothes person, what you say has extra weight.

"grown-up, confident, ladylike, slightly prudish, and conservative. I'd risk Frederik taking me for a Counsel for the Prosecution."
Good decision - sounds gorgeous. |

Next Tuesday is Bastille Day for us, so it's a day off - and I just found out my inernship tutor was ok for me to take the day off on Monday.
4 days week end, here I come!!! I'm going to sleep my brains out I think, I'm so tired. Best way to start the day!

I've got a question: when you say 'See you shortly', do you mean that you're going to see someone in a short while (which would be my guess,
but I'm hesitating) or that you're going to see them for a short while?
Thanks!

So I have decided on the turquoise dress. It's short, made of silk, and has golden dots and buttons.
So - what happened to You, Frederik and the Dress?

Thanks Evelyn - that's what I thought when I wrote it in a text, and then after I hit the send button, I started to have doubts

The dress and Frederik are in late August, Clifton, so there's time to change my mind more than once

Ooh, emerald green silk sounds lovely, Nik. And loose would be comfortable if the dessert tray was especially nice.

I also, it seems, am always thinking of food. A good friend from Berlin is staying at the moment; I speak very little German (after just 2 years at school, 34
years ago). He went to see Jude Law in Hamlet the other night; later I wanted to ask him if he had enjoyed the "To be or not to be" speech (which is
done in the castle courtyard in snow - not sure how they're going to manage that in Elsinore in summer!) "Did you like the speech which begins
"Essen oder nicht essen, das ist die Frage"?" I asked him. Well, apparently that means "To eat or not to eat, that is the question".
Always a much more important question, I feel.

I agree with that, Jas.
My dad used to film us a lot during family gatherings - Christmas, birthdays, christenings... and that's how we realised that we are, 3 times in 4, talking about food...

Essen oder nicht essen...
I read about a study that determined that women spend two years of their lives thinking about food. I'm not sure that's confined to women, though. I, and a couple of friends (one male, one female) have started walking for exercise. We talk constantly about food while we're trying to burn off the effects of our overeating. |

This is bad for him, as he doesn't want to go live far away from home... and it's bad for me too, as this means my mum and dad will have to pay for his flat, and I'm stuck at home for the next two years Mind you, it might be over by the end of the Summer, you never know... although I'd like it to last a bit. I like him a lot

We're pleased with the results so far. The building we are based in now, a huge, soulless government building, has a walking track outdoors, and a basement hallway which is exactly a quarter of a mile long, that doubles as an indoor walking track. We usually walk indoors. It's dull, but predictable, and we entertain ourselves with thoughts of brownies with white chocolate icing. |
