This is the new Acropolis museum and here in Greece is a big celebration about it as it needed years to be builded. We Greeks -all over the world- we are very disappointed by the Managmenet of the British Museum. Althought they know very well that the "so called Elgin marbles" dont have any point to be at the British Museum they still insist in their point of view. ( years ago they used to claim that we Greeks didnt have a proper museum to hold them and that they are holding them for the good of the marbles!!!) Now, that we have the proper museum they are saying that the Brotish Museum is more popular to the turists and mor people they will see them. The whole story is ridiculous ( sorry for using this word but it is the truth). Most of British intelectual people want the marbles in their home country. Lord Elgin was a "pirate" of these times, we all know this.

The new Acropilis museum is opening on 20 June 2009, a lot of Prime Ministers and Presidents of different countries will be there, except the managment of the British Museum. I dont have anything against the British people , on the contrary!But I guess that the British museum managments is blind at this special circumctance. Bristish Museum has a lot of Egyptian treasury to promote ( leave the Greek out of it!!)
