How about Frozen w/Shirley Henderson? Any thoughts on this movie?

I can see why Miss Marie Lloyd doesn't appeal to you both. From what I've seen on YT, Jessie Wallace is annoying. Luckily there are other RA
projects that I can watch instead until there is a drought.

Re Frozen, I haven't seen it yet, but would like to. From what Sara said it's quite good, although RA only has a small part
in it.
Re Sylvester, I definitely think you should finish reading the book before listening to the audio CD. It makes all the difference, especially as Georgette Heyer takes a while to get going - you know what she's like, Evelyn. But it's worth persevering as the banter between Sylveter and Phoebe gets wittier and wittier as the book goes on. I'm half way through, just about to start the third cd and loving all the different voices. You should hear him do Keithly, Sylvester's ancient man servant, with a cold! Does he do alot of different accents on Lords of the North? Just curious as Sylvester and the Robin Hood audio books are so heavily dialogue-based, he needs to have quite a range to distinguish between the characters. D xx

Can't believe it's the penultimate episode of Robin Hood tonight! Where on earth did the last 12 weeks go?
I should be doing housework but instead have been flittering my time away looking at some old clips on You Tube. This is quite sweet, from Children in Need 2007 where Guy holds Pudsey Bear for ransom unless the British people donate money. Worth watching just to hear Richard say the line "He'll never make you as happy as I could" right at the end. Robin Hood on Children in Need Then that led me to the special Vicar of Dibley sketch that Richard did for Comic Relief where he and Dawn French do a celebrity wife swap with Sting and Trudi Styler. I'm afraid I'm not v keen on Sting, but at least he's mocking himself in this and the payback at the end is worth waiting for. Is it just me or does Richard look quite fetching in the pink and purple shell suit? Vicar of Dibley - Comic Relief special D xx

I can't wait! I was trying to picture RA in the book but not seeing it right now in my mind. But RA is a very good storyteller so I have faith that I'll enjoy Sylvester. Does he do alot of different accents on Lords of the North? Just curious as Sylvester and the Robin Hood audio books are so heavily dialogue-based, he needs to have quite a range to distinguish between the characters. I heard he does several versions of the Northern accents on LOTN audiobook. Myself, I would not be able to distinguish them off hand but I'm sure you could, Doulla. LOTN has 10 cds and is unabridged. Can't believe it's the penultimate episode of Robin Hood tonight! Where on earth did the last 12 weeks go? They go fast when you're enjoying yourself, right? I've been hearing about Archer. Don't worry, I know who he is. Someone sent a link about RH S3 DVD Region 1/NTSC being sold by BBC America by early 2010. Is it just me or does Richard look quite fetching in the pink and purple shell suit? Edit to add - I just read ULTIMATE spoiler for RH S3.

Oh no! After being so careful to avoid spoilers, that's so annoying Evelyn! I'm keeping well away from the AA forum this week because
I don't want to read anything about the finale. I've heard rumours and I can guess a few things, but I'd still rather not know.
It's my birthday today and my daughter made me a lovely card of Sir Guy saying "Gizzy sends his love and wishes you a Happy Birthday!". D xx

Oh, I didn't have a clue your birthday was June 22, Doulla!
Truth is, I meant to ask you for ages when it was, and I kept forgetting to Happy belated birthday then! I hope you had a lovely one!

Can someone tell me why I search for RA/ Marie Lloyd videos on youtube? (probably because I've seen everything there is out there with Edward to answer my
own question!) I don't even like the guy that much!
Ok, here goes: a) I tried to find "between the sheets" but couldn't. Which one of his series would you recommend? (don't start bombarding me with titles!) b) Doulla, there is something out there with RA in it (Marie Lloyd) and you haven't seen it? I am impressed. c) I loooooooooove Sting. I had a great time at his concert, liked his music since I was a child. That Comic Relief special was funny. d) I am with you re spoilers Evelyn. It is so disappointing... I try to avoid them, but with the plethora of information and excitement building up so soon on a new project, it is sooo difficult! e) Is RA married? E.xxx

Thank you for the birthday wishes.
a) I tried to find "between the sheets" but couldn't. Which one of his series would you recommend? (don't start bombarding me with titles!) Eva, Starting with the easy stuff first - no, Richard is not married. He is ultra, ultra, ultra protective of his private life. He let slip in an interview years ago that he lives with his girlfriend in London, a dancer he met when they were in Cats, but that's all we know. Of his work, my must sees are Spooks, North & South, The Impressionists and Vicar of Dibley, in that order. Evelyn what are yours? I doubt Robin Hood is your sort of thing, Eva; it's very silly and I hated it at first but got completely drawn in by the man in black. Now I love the show but it's only worth watching if you lust after Sir Guy, like me and Evelyn! Between the Sheets is good. It's not a series I'm very fond of but it definitely gets to the nitty gritty about personal relationships. Sparkhouse I like very much. He looks awful in it but he is spot on in his portrayal of the simple, lonely farm hand desperate for love. Cold Feet - I'm still waiting for this from the library. It's quite funny, he plays a gigolo with a very annoying girlfriend...and he looks drop dead gorgeous in it from what I've seen on You Tube! Marie Lloyd - I wouldn't bother. He's done lots of other stuff, one-off dramas etc. He's not in the same league as actors like Ralph, or Ed Norton, Stephen Dillane etc. He's a lightweight actor, but then again, when they get the casting right like they did for N&S, I don't believe any of them could have done a better job. North & South, cross
Spooks, soon The Impressionists, is it in 3 episodes? Is the title "The Private life of a Masterpiece Impressionism and the Post-Impressionists" or is this another BBC production? Vicar of Dibley, all 3 seasons? Spatkhouse is a film? Bear with me, I am trying to find things on mininova.... He is ultra, ultra, ultra protective of his private life Why do they do that? I mean in Edward's case everyone knows who he's dating, they've been together for almost 3 years now and besides the odd pap photo, they are never photographed together even in public events they attend together... I think it is strange. She is always hovering on the sides... E.xxx

Yes, I know it's strange, isn't it? What difference does it make if people know who they date? They don't have to discuss details of their private
life in public but it seems a bit pointless trying to hide who they are. I'm not really bothered either way, other than mild curiosity. For example I know
who my other crumpet, David Tennant, is dating but I don't exactly follow it with any great interest.
The Impressionists - here is the link on Amazon: The Impressionists I'm not suggesting you should buy it, you're welcome to borrow mine. It's just to show you which one it is. It's in 3 parts. Vicar of Dibley - RA was only in the 2-part finale of the series. His episodes were called "The Handsome Stranger" and "The Vicar in White". So unless you want to watch the whole series, then it's just those 2 episodes. Again, you're welcome to borrow mine. Sparkhouse was a tv mini series in 3 parts. Can't lend it to you at the moment as it's with Sara. D xx

You know the proverb? "O kosmos to exei toumpano kai emeis krifo kamari"?
Thanks for explaining and sorry to bombard you with all these questions. I am genuinely interested! E.xxx

Oh blast, my Greek is useless! I have no idea what that proverb means. Is it "The people can go to hell and we are secret ....." I don't get the
last bit. Shall I ask my mother?
Evelyn, that birthday pic you posted of RA in the white shirt - I always thought it was a studio portrait, but I came across this short clip from Cold Feet and there it is at the end. Is it the same one? RA in Cold Feet - Part 3 I just adore his expression when the extremely annoying (and evidently blind) Ramona shuts the door on him. Sorry, couldn't resist this clip either, it has one of the best lines at the end. Ramona suspects him of having an affair and a mobile phone rings. "Is that yours or mine?" says Lee and Ramona replies "Mine plays the macarena!". RA in Cold Feet - Part 6 D xx

Your mother probably knows... it is something along the lines of "the whole world knows it and we keep it a secret pride". Thanks to both of you for the recommendations. I already have Spooks 7 & Shakespeare Retold, so I should start with that, next week (I am going away on a long weekend and have so many things to do before I leave). The Cold Feet clips were nice! I just realized that Shakespeare retold is on sale at amazon. It's only £5.98. The inner-European postage is only 1.88, as far as I remember. Great
bargain, moreover given the weak Pound.

I didn't even know that I got Shakespeare Retold off Amazon.co.uk, Clifton. Well worth it.
