A wee update on my boyfriend's friend who's in jail in Iran: her trial is over, though the verdict has not been pronounced yet.
She is still in jail, but according to the media - and to her dad, who was speaking on the radio this morning - the French embassy has the possibility to bail her out, she'd have to stay in the embassy in Tehran until the verdict has been announced. It looks rather good...

Sorry 'Bookworm', I can't remember your name, but hope you don't mind - because I just wanted to comment on your post about your
boyfriend's friend in Iran. I take it, not knowing the specific background to your post, that she took part in the demos after the so-called
'election': brave person, & I hope things can be sorted out for her quickly & satisfactorily. A very risky situation to be in. Please give us
an update when you hear something more.

How many here are also on twitter? If so.. remember back to a few weeks ago? My god.. it seemed like it was exploding over in Iran.. now we hear nothing.
I'm MORE afraid for the people of Iran now..

JaneVictor: apparently, she would have taken photos of demonstrations and emailed them to her friends in an email where she tells them not to worry about her.
That's why she is being tried on spying charges.
She wasn't released yesterday... Nothing should happen today as people don't work on Fridays in Iran (didn't know that before  ), so they're
hoping she can get out of jail on Saturday.

That's it, I just didn't know how to phrase it in English. I talked about her on the other thread, she's at the French embassy at the moment. She didn't post her photos anywhere, she just emailed them in private messages.
