What is it, Eva, with you and Tilda Swinton? Being the the president of the Berlinale Jury this year she seems to be everywhere. And on TV they show all her
films. But last night I had to break up my newest effort to watch Orlando. This time I made it to "1700" at last. Then I fell asleep againg.

Oh, there is just something that doesn't sit well with me about her. Nothing in particular. I am sure she is a great artist, but things I've learned
about her private life made me go ... hmmmm
I am not judging, her life, her choices, non of my business and all that. Also she is too pale for my taste and on top of it she heightens that... And I don't like her clothes either. As you can see my reasons for nagging are REALLY profound! E.xxx

Sara, I think it was the fact that both jacket and trousers were black, but only the jacket was velvet, that I found strange - a velvet jacket in a contrasting
colour I've seen (though that would be a bit Jason King - Jane will know what I mean.
"In three hours I could be in Tallahassee....great....or perhaps somewhere close to Savannah...whoopee...or just south of Orlando...double whoopee" I've always rather liked Tilda, just because she seems like an independent spirit. And I love the Derek Jarman film Caravaggio, which she's in. |

Did anyone see Tilda Swinton when she lied for 8 days in that glass coffin in London's Serpentine Gallery, with a sign on it: "Mathilda Swinton 1960 -
"? That was in 1994 after Derek Jarman had died.

I didn't, but I remember it. I remember being initially envious, but then wondering at how bored one would get (I suppose one could stay up all night so
that one would sleep all day). I can't help feeling that on my death bed I would regret those 8 days.

8 days of meditation and sleep! Sounds pretty good right now actually.

Eva, I read somewhere that Tilda does not wear makeup when not acting. This is probably one of the reasons she looks so pale.
How come people don't like Clive's velvet jacket? I just looked at photos and I like it. Linda |

Personally, I love it. To my knowledge, only Jas and Clive's oldest daughter have voiced their displeasure so far. |

I saw the photos fleetingly when I posted them at the Berlinale thread and didn't notice the velvet jacket!
As long as it is not matched with velvet pants and it is not red, it is certainly fine by me! How do we know Clive's oldest daughter objects to it? E.xxx

Because he told Conan O'Brien and with him everybody and her Gran'ma.
I posted this earlier on this thread: "Just as he set out to get to the premiere, his older daughter texted him: "Have a great time, Dad, please don't wear the velvet jacket." He replied: "why?" She goes: "It's weird and embarrassing." (Of course, if I were his daughter, I'd give him lots of aggro for telling this openly on Conan O'Brien!)" |

Wow, Nina Hagen, how cool! I have one of her albums, I bought it in high school in the 80s.

David Tennant often wear velvet jackets, and I can't say I like them...

Eternal Sunshine - I feel to be missing something! And this time it's not the Berliner Ensemble, it's an emoticon for shovelling snow, cos that's
definitely me in your smilie, tho I don't have a little green hat! How do I get extra smilies?
