Avoid if you don't want any spoilers at all regarding the next episodes of Dr Who...
Click here "A blonde John Simm" That is highly disturbing...

If there were a situation involving me, David and the floor, we wouldn't be 'sitting' I'm not going to look at the link, Audrey, I daren't. Do they have a date for The Waters of Mars yet? I've got so much to catch up on re Comic Con in LA, DT's backside etc. I hope they have some extracts on You Tube (the panel interviews, I mean, not DT's backside). Re Torchwood, that last episode was pretty disturbing, wasn't it? Overall, I was a bit disappointed with The Children of Earth. I was v excited when I saw it was directed by Euros Lynn, and he did a great job, but I really missed the fast pace and humour of the normal Torchwood episodes. There were some v clever ideas but it dragged in places and there was not enough of the Torchwood team. I was heartbroken to see the Hub destroyed so early and that meant they didn't have a focal point for Gwen, Yianto and Capt Jack. It changed the whole dynamics. And I missed Tosh and Owen so much; I wept buckets at the finale last year...and now Yianto...I'm not sure where the show goes from here or if that's the end of it. But what a fantastic ending, what a sacrifice Jack made. Brilliant work by John Barrowman and the actress who played his daughter. D xx

That's brilliant Evelyn! I love those two guys so much, they're as bad as each other. When John and David were working together I think they spent most of the time making rude jokes and giggling. Thanks for the clip of the panel interviews - it's much better than the ones I've been trying to watch on You Tube, some great close ups. And my goodness, what a reception David got when he came on. It was deafening! D xx

I knew you'd enjoy the JB and DT kiss, Doulla!
You were able to view the rest of the Dr Who press conference, right? There were total of 6 parts to it. Oh, do you need me to save those vids for you (now that I think about it)? John Barrowman reminds me of Tom Cruise. But less annoying and funnier. I've been very slow in finishing Torchwood: Children of Earth. I can never get a chance to watch TV these days b/c Nate has it during the mornings and Mr LD does his XBOX game on it during the evenings. Hmmph! |

Evelyn, thanks for the kind offer re the Comic Con vids but it's not something I'd keep. I'm still catching up on watching them.
Re Torchwood, I thought you'd seen it. I'm mortified I've given away spoilers. I'm really sorry, Evelyn. BTW if you ever want to see any of the 'proper' Torchwood episodes from Series 1 and 2, do let me know and I'll send them to you. D xx

Evelyn, this one's for you! You know how much we love CBeebies read by our gorgeous crumpets...well, here's John Barrowman reading
"Bumposaurus". He's so camp!

Cbeebies - didn't realize John B did one also. I tried watching Jonas Armstrong's readings but he's no Richard. |

I tried watching Jonas Armstrong's readings but he's no Richard. Yeah, me too! I gave up. Actually, Jonas was in a one-off drama the other day on BBC 1 called "The Street". He played a soldier who fought in Iraq and who has returned home after being injured in a suicide bomb. Half his face was fine and the other half was scarred. It was how he coped with his family, his fiance etc He was really really good. Re Capt Jack, that little boy was his grandson. Jack is actually about 150 years old and cannot die (reference Doctor Who Series 1 when he was brought back to life by Rose...and don't even get me started on who Jack turns out to be in Series 3!!!) so that woman was Jack's daughter even though she looked the same age as him. Confused? D xx

re: Capt Jack
I figured out the not dying part. So that is why his daughter was giving him an evil look. Don't worry about sending me your Torchwood disks. I'm still trying to catch up with Spooks instead. I'm happily waiting for the Spooks series with RPJ to show up on my PBS station. |

I'm so glad to know I'm not the only one who went "meh" to Torchwood: Children of Earth! I'm really hoping they don't bring it back..
and it looks as though John Barrowman MIGHT be working here in the states this year anyway (on Desperate Housewives.. ugh).. if they DO decide it's worth a
try without him.. what's it gonna be? Capt. Jack's Angels? Think about it.. the only ones who survived who WOULD MAKE SENSE at Torchwood are Gwen, the
chick from "special forces" and the temp that helped them (I lost interest so badly, I've forgotten their names)... oh and Reese. What makes more
sense? Reese as Bosley and the other three as Jack's "angels" (he COULD just do the "voice in a box" thing like John Forsythe did) ..
time to let it go.
By the way.. Gareth David Lloyd is going to be at a convention in Boston in November... it looks like I have to go (husband is a coordinator for a group of independent comic artists and writers and they're going to have a booth there). If I can.. I'll take a few photos of Ianto for you all. Also.. for all the US Dr. Who fans.. the new Who episodes (with Matt Smith and Karen Gillan... or as I've been calling it Dr. Who 90210... they're BOTH too young... sorry) will air on BBC America in the spring of 2010... it starts shortly after it'll start in the UK... for a change, American audiences won't be too far behind. Gonna miss DT... and what is up with Beeb America blurring the crack of a person's ass now? |

I can't imagine they'd do a new Torchwood series without Capt Jack so I guess that's it for the show. I'm really sad about it. Series
1 was pretty inconsistent but by Series 2 they got into their stride. I loved it and was really looking forward to a third.
Re Torchwood: Children of Earth I gather it is BBC America's most successful series ever! Although I didn't enjoy it as much as I expected, it's still fantastic news and I hope Doctor Who will be as successful. Re John Barrowman, he's going to be starring in La Cage Aux Folles at the Playhouse Theatre, London from 14 Sept to 28 Nov 2009. According to John's website "He will take the role of Albin, the diva drag queen whose iconic "I am what I am" has become John's own anthem". How could we resist? My daughter and I have booked to go and see him in October! BTW tonight at 8pm on BBC3 it's "Doctor Who's Greatest Moments". Hmmm...just filling in time before Waters of Mars...? D xx

John Barrowman is also going to guest star in the new Desperate Housewives series - maybe I should start watching it
I can really see him in La Cage aux Folles, would love to see that!

Me too, Audrey! I've never watched Desperate Housewives but if John's going to be in it...
I even watched one episode of Hotel Babylon (blushes with embarrassment) because he had a cameo role...camp and way OTT but totally John Barrowman! D xx

But if you get it from the RSC, you get free exclusive Hamlet merchandise apparently - and you help to fund them:

Will wait until they announce a price (and shipping cost overseas!). I'd rather fund them than Amazon or some similar website indeed.
