I knew David was on this recording but never got around to buying it. Would you recommend it?

I think my copy must be in the attic with stuff from when I was little... couldn't find it in my bedroom. Come to think of it, I don't even know if I
still one something to play tapes anymore...

I was considering selling my tape version of R&J on Amazon since CDs seem more durable.
I can now see the appeal of DT from this YT clip you sent me, Doulla. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QhBf2-pPFi8 Plus, Audrey, is that the A&F hoodie you've been eyeing? ETA - or was it the zip up version?

Can't go on YT from work, unfortunately
I'm not too fond of zip up hoodies, though, so I guess that might be the one I like

Evelyn, that You Tube clip at the RSC stage door is special to me because we were there. We had such a lovely weekend in Stratford, meeting up
with friends and going to see two performances on the same day, Loves Labours Lost matinee and Hamlet in the evening. And my daughter finally
got DT's autograph, which was the icing on the cake.
I can now see the appeal of DT from this YT clip you sent me, Doulla. But I prefer RA b/c of his chocolatey voice. I'd say David's appeal is not so much in his looks, he's too quirkey and doesn't always photograph well. But he is gorgeous in real life and to hear him speak in his native Scottish accent, as he did in LLL, is just heavenly for me. Above all, though,, it's his personality that shines through in whatever he does; he is bubbly and charming and funny and kind. The first time I saw him live was at the Doctor Who concert and he knew exactly how to work the audience. He was the compere and just 'sparkled', he looked like he was enjoying every moment. I'd say he is not just an actor but a performer. With Richard Armitage he comes across as a very different sort of actor; people say he is sweet but very shy and I imagine happier to hide behind a character than to go out infront of an audience as himself and entertain them. As for that gorgeous chocolatey voice of his...all I can say is 'yum'. D xx

I noticed his charisma in the backstage videos. Very funny and generous to his fans. In still photos, he does come out looking goofy. Torchwood: Children of Earth is premiering on BBC America tomorrow and continues throughout the week. It's interesting that they are really advertising this show - full page in Entertainment Weekly mag, XBOX 360 Live advert. |

Oh dear, in some ways I wish I hadn't looked at that. It's always such a big moment when they reveal the Doctor's new costume. Then again, it's
going to be impossible to avoid between now and the start of the new series...
I do like the look, it suits both of them. Audrey, did you notice his assistant is wearing pink converses!! Evelyn, do you think you'll watch Torchwood. I've deliberately not said anything about it incase of spoilers, and I'm not sure if Audrey has seen it yet. That's such a great link on BBC America. You must have a go at the virtual tour of the Torchwood hub, it's fantastic. God, I love that place. I know Cardiff Bay so well now yet I still get such a thrill being there. The Wales Millenium Centre is one of my favourite buildings in the world. D xx

Sorry I spoilt it for you, Doulla!
I'm halfway through Torchwood, I still have two episodes to watch.

Oh, no worries Audrey. Over the next few months there'll be pictures everywhere. They did that with David and the brown suit, and then
when he changed to the blue suit.

I'm not sure I like the Doctor's new outfit though - I would have liked something really different from David's. Ok, he's wearing a bowtie...
but is that really different from a tie? And his suit looks a wee bit more old fashioned. But apart from that, it's the same spirit.
I would have loved to see a Doctor a bit more rock'n'roll!

Another one from The Guardian (with the same picture, so Doulla won't see too much of the new outfit!) - not liking the new outfit either

Hubby had to tell me some rumour re: DT & The Hobbit movie. He heard that Peter Jackson was also at Comic Con. He thought discussions in the works for
DT as Bilbo Baggins. But I'm not seeing it. I heard more in the line as an elf instead for DT?
ETA: Another thing, a friend was telling me he was watching Comic-Con on one of his cable station! I'll have to check it out later to see what he meant.

I just finished watching Torchwood... bloody hell, that final episode was a hard one to watch. I almost pressed STOP a couple of times. Not that I didn't
like it, but it was hard to handle, all those kids being taken away from the families... the Frobisher family... the Steven story... made me shiver.
