Very thoughtful and interesting observations. I wonder of all the doctors and plastic surgeons that Jackson went seeking drugs or procedures.....did
anyone ever suggest or recommend a psychiatrist or psychotherapist? I mean...some his "friends" were some of the most famous people in Hollywood....and many of them had their own childhood issues(Minnelli, Taylor, Fonda)....surely somebody would have suggested it ?
I do think some of the heaviest drug use...

thank you for that clip/video. I had various thoughts while I was watching that video clip:

1. MJ was more able to be himself on stage, beyond his father's immediate control
2. He only learned how to be "normal' performing because that is what he learned from the age of..what? 5? and he learned that his how you gain love and approval

Hi Cindy: I meant to touch upon the name "Jacko" thing too.....but forgot. Thanks for reminding me. Yeah....they should stop using that term now.
Jon Stewart of The Daily Show remarked about it recently and basically he said that insulting terms or names people used to describe you when you were alive ...they should really stop using those terms once the person they used to mock is deceased. Hi TESSA..... I understand the problem with posting and then losing the post. The same thing happened to me on a post I was replying to you on this very thread..but it took me a while...note my last post....or the one before that....I found it very annoying and things were hectic in life in general.

About those journalists...I do get tired of it as well....and it continues...the continued use of the term: Jacko...enough already.

Tessa, thanks again for providing the links to what I refer to. I do hope some folks are curious enough to check them out. Your comments about Panther Dance and the nod to Kelly in Dancing in the rain....absolutely. Michael J did study the older generation. He once met Frank S.....Q. Jones was producing him....and his comment was that he wanted the chance to meet these great singers from that era...i.e...40s 50s...he had an appreciation for all kinds of artists from the past.

Here is The Panther Dance that Cindy is referring to. Cindy, I remember this because it was originally part of the Black or White video that was premiered.......but this sequence received such an uproar from the public, particularly parent groups that Jackson had to edit the video and this part was taken out of the version that was later shown on MTV. Some of this he seems to be also tipping...

Youtube is amazing Cindy ...isn't it? I also have been feeling the need to go back and see some of his performances. And by looking at number of "hits" some of his videos are getting (ie in the millions).....others have felt the need too. There was a time for about a 10-15 year stretch in 80's or 90's when you would see MJ perform on one award show or another quite often and be reminded of his brilliance.

Tessa, I understand also so sad about whole thing,
MJ(Though I don't really followed his music or career) was so GIFTED and so much to give, it is so SAD, and Even It was so much Media coverage after his death, I agree with you, he was VICTIM of many!
and I think he wasn't strong enough to beat all, Childhood Abuse from Parent is HARD, but you know not everyone from same experience turns out same!

Thanks for the link to the article Jasmine. The part when Jackson was emotional about Peter Pan was very moving. Truly enlightening article.
I think his manager/handlers probably realized that anybody encouraging Michael's obsession with Peter Pan would not coincide with his reputation as the King of Pop. I just wish a lot of people who are now speaking out about their friendships with Jackson, encounters with Jackson etc had come to his defense when he was fighting for his life...

I don't know. Nunn seems to think it's because his manager blocked it. Or it might be because Michael wasn't that impressed with his ideas and was being polite (though in that case I'm surprised he wouldn't have returned his calls just to say it wasn't going to work out). We'll never know.

Very interesting, Jas! So, why do you think at the end of the story Trevor Nunn is unable to reach Michael? MJ later realized that he had revealed too much of himself? Perhaps his manager took note of it when the three of them were together and told him to back off from the too personal (and quite unusual) revelations? And MJ never did use the flying over the audience thing, did he?

I have never been a huge fan but M. Jackson has been in the music scene for as long as I can remember...he apparently today today in LA, of Cardiac Arrst.

And, what is expected news, Farah Fawcett has also died.

Just watching CNN at the moment. Some how I find this news a but surreal.
